The 'Practícate' program's main objective is to offer a first supervised practical experience in real work environments to young people aged between 18 and 25, or up to 29 if they are registered with the Youth Guarantee System. The initiative has a funding of 70,000 euros and will be processed through a simplified procedure.
The Minister of Tourism and Employment, Jéssica de León, emphasized that the program acts as a bridge to employment stability, helping young people overcome the barrier of lack of experience. "Our goal with 'Practícate' is to break the barrier that our young people face due to lack of experience. With this program, we manage to offer them a first contact with the reality of work while they complement their training," she stated.
De León added that the initiative also seeks to encourage the Canary Islands' business sector to open its doors to emerging talent, ensuring that this transition to employment occurs under dignified and safe economic conditions.
The director of the SCE, María Teresa Ortega, explained that the call has been designed to be open and is divided into two selection periods of 35,000 euros each, to provide greater flexibility for companies in planning their hires. The application process will be strictly electronic to minimize administrative burdens.
The program is aimed at entities, individuals, legal entities, or community of goods with private capital operating in the archipelago. The internships will have a fixed duration of six months. Selected young people will receive a monthly scholarship of no less than 720 euros (120% of the current IPREM), and the SCE will subsidize companies up to 480 euros per month per participant to offset the cost of this scholarship.
The submission of applications is now open through the electronic headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands. The first application period closes on July 31, and the second period will run from August 1 to November 30, 2026.
