Twenty large companies and Temporary Unions of Companies (UTEs) are competing for the construction of the new AVE station in Vera, named the Vera-Almanzora High-Speed station. The works, which should begin before the end of 2026, have an execution period of 18 months.
The deadline for submitting offers ended on May 28, and Adif has already initiated the contracting process. The evaluation committee met on July 1 to analyze the economic proposals, which range from 15.50 million euros from Sacyr Construcción to 13.77 million from ASCH Infraestructuras y Servicios.
Among the companies that have submitted their candidacies are multinationals such as Acciona Construcción, Ferrovial Construcción, and Sacyr Construcción, in addition to 17 other UTEs and companies.
The station, which will have a surface area of 1,850 m2, will include a main hall, boarding area, information desk, ticket sales, restrooms, changing rooms, a commercial space, and offices. It will feature an underpass to connect with the 450-meter long platforms, equipped with canopies, elevators, and escalators.
Externally, a car park with at least 150 spaces (expandable to 200) will be built, along with bus and taxi stops. An access road will also be constructed from the A-352 road.
If there are no delays, the works could be completed by mid-2028. The station will be located south of the historic center of Vera, between it and the beach, along the A-352 road connecting Vera with Garrucha.
