The University of Córdoba (UCO) and the Confederation of Business Owners of Córdoba (CECO) have formalized an agreement to establish the CECO Family Business Chair, an initiative designed to strengthen this vital sector in the province.

The agreement, signed by UCO Rector Manuel Torralbo and CECO President Antonio Díaz, includes a 20,000-euro funding commitment from the business confederation for the next four years. This financial support will enable a wide range of activities aimed at bolstering family businesses in the region.
Planned activities include an annual family business meeting in Córdoba, envisioned as an economic and professional forum for exchanging experiences. Additionally, continuous training programs will be implemented, featuring specialized courses, micro-credentials, and practical workshops for members of these companies.
The chair will also promote academic excellence through awards for Final Degree Projects, Master's Final Projects, and doctoral theses. The initiative will host thematic conferences and seminars, foster applied research in collaboration with public and private entities, and publish practical books and manuals.

"Our intention is for the new CECO Chair to remain long-term, given the interest expressed by the family businesses integrated into the confederation, which account for over 90% of it."

Antonio Torrent · President of CECO's Family Business Commission and Vice President of the entity
Both the UCO Rector and the CECO President recalled the legacy of the previous Prasa Family Business Chair, whose training activities were a benchmark. For her part, the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Transfer, Lourdes Arce, expressed gratitude for CECO's trust in the University of Córdoba to establish this bilateral knowledge transfer relationship.
