The Leather Technology Center, Movex, has organized a series of promotional actions for Ubrique's leather industry this month. The goal is to showcase the town's production capacity and expertise internationally.
In Antwerp, Movex attended the 'Fashion Show' of its prestigious fashion school. This event, supported by the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Cádiz and funded by the Provincial Council, served to present Ubrique's offerings to young designers starting their careers in major fashion houses. Student Stan Peeters was awarded the 'Movex Prize' and will travel to the Sierra town in September to learn firsthand about Ubrique's workshops and the key factors for collection development.
Furthermore, in collaboration with the Provincial Tourism Board of the Diputación de Cádiz, Movex is coordinating the participation of local companies with their own brands in an event organized by the Regional Government of Andalusia in Milan. Under the slogan ‘Discover Andalusia: the origin of artisan luxury’, the aim is to promote the sector.
Finally, members of the Movex Foundation will also attend a meeting in Oxford, taking place from June 26th to 28th, further extending the international presence of Ubrique's leather goods.
