Tharsis Mining has redefined its strategic focus in Andalusia, prioritizing the reopening of the historic Tharsis mines and concentrating its resources on initiatives with greater viability in the Iberian Pyrite Belt.

The company Tharsis Mining has initiated a significant reorganization of its project portfolio in Andalusia. The main objective is to channel its resources towards initiatives that present the highest development and profitability expectations. At the core of this new strategy is the project for the reopening of the Tharsis mines, which is currently in the environmental processing phase.
As part of this adjustment, the company has decided to withdraw from certain exploration permits before their concession. This decision is based on geological, environmental, and legal criteria, seeking to focus activity on projects with greater technical viability and more promising economic potential. Company sources have explained that this measure is part of a strategy to optimize their operations.

In some cases, and prior to their granting, we have withdrawn from certain permits for geological, environmental, or legal reasons, concentrating our efforts on those with higher expectations of success.

This strategic move coincides with the progress of its most important assets in the province of Huelva, where Tharsis Mining maintains its largest volume of activity and projection. The reopening project of the Tharsis mines stands out, whose Unified Environmental Authorization (AAU) file has entered the public information phase after its publication in the BOJA.
This initiative contemplates the exploitation of gold, copper, and cobalt for a period of 30 years, mobilizing over 120 million tons of resources in one of the historical enclaves of the Iberian Pyrite Belt. Additionally, the company is developing the Filón Norte-San Guillermo deposit and the La Zarza project, thus strengthening its position in the main mining belt of southern Europe.
Exploratory activity continues in other areas, albeit more selectively. The company currently holds two granted exploration permits in the province of Seville, where work is ongoing, while other applications submitted in different Andalusian provinces are still awaiting resolution.
This strategic adjustment occurs in a context of reactivation of metallic mining in Huelva, driven by the increasing demand for critical raw materials and growing interest in resources associated with the energy transition. Tharsis Mining thus reinforces its commitment to the historical projects of the Iberian Pyrite Belt, prioritizing those with greater geological knowledge and operational viability to reduce uncertainties and accelerate industrial developments.
