According to sources from Indra, the consortium has delivered 15 units this year and 41 vehicles in 2025. The contract, valued at 2.1 billion euros, foresees the manufacturing of 348 combat vehicles, with deliveries scheduled progressively until 2027.
Last week, Indra confirmed that the program is progressing “steadily” and “in accordance with the planned schedule” with the Ministry of Defense, ensuring the fulfillment of deliveries. Currently, the 45 vehicles received so far are undergoing testing, as reported by the Spanish Army.
“"This issue greatly concerned me, and I called on the companies to fulfill the contract on time and in due form."
Among the recently delivered units are the first four of the Infantry Section Command Post variant. These will be sent to the Legion at the Álvarez de Sotomayor Base in Almería, where they will be integrated into the Operational Evaluation exercises underway since the beginning of the year.
The 8x8 VCR program is one of the key projects for modernizing the land capabilities of the Spanish Armed Forces, and its development is managed by Tess Defence. This consortium is controlled by Indra (51.1%) and includes participation from Sapa Placencia, Escribano Mechanical & Engineering (EM&E), and Santa Bárbara Sistemas (Gdels), each holding a 16.3% stake.
The delivery coincided with the certification of the Qualification milestones for the Sapper Section Command Post and Infantry Section and Company Command Post variants, highlighting the technical progress of the project.
