The hotel company Silken Hoteles has confirmed its comeback to the Andalusian market with the opening of the Silken Antequera Hills, a four-star hotel located in Antequera, Málaga. This strategic move marks the chain's return to a key region for Spanish tourism, following its previous exit from the Andalusian market.
Silken's prior disengagement from Andalusia occurred after the sale of the Al-Andalus Palace de Sevilla hotel. With this new addition, the chain reaffirms its commitment to high-value tourist destinations and strengthens its positioning in southern Spain.
The Silken Antequera Hills is designed to cater to both holiday tourism and the corporate segment, events, and active tourism. The General Director of Silken Hoteles, Javier Villanueva, highlighted the hotel's privileged location and its focus on exploring the Andalusian interior, as well as its capacity to host events.
The establishment, which takes over management from GAT Hospitality, is situated in a quiet and well-connected area. It offers access to attractions such as the archaeological site of the Dólmenes (a Unesco World Heritage site), El Torcal, and the Caminito del Rey. Its strategic location between Málaga, Granada, Córdoba, and Sevilla makes it an ideal starting point for leisure getaways and professional trips.
The hotel features 182 rooms and includes a restaurant, cafeteria, outdoor pool, and spacious common areas. Its strengths lie in its event hosting capabilities, with versatile rooms accommodating up to 1,000 attendees, and its active tourism offerings, including 'cycling friendly' services.
This return to Andalusia is part of Silken Hoteles' sustainable growth plan, which currently operates 31 establishments across 24 destinations. The chain, headquartered in Vitoria-Gasteiz, aims to consolidate its presence in dynamic tourism markets through differentiated assets and a strong brand that prioritizes design, comfort, and sustainability.
