The Port of Seville has received provisional approval from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, allocating nine million euros in Feder funds to modernize and automate its railway operations.

The Port Authority of Seville (APS) has been informed about the approval of nine million euros in funding, sourced from Feder funds. This investment, managed by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, is aimed at advancing the automation of railway operations within the port facilities.
The project, named ‘Advance Ferroport System Sevilla’, falls under the Public Procurement of Innovation initiative. Its primary goal is to develop an advanced system for rail-port management, incorporating innovative solutions to optimize railway operation and signaling within the port environment, thereby significantly enhancing its efficiency and competitiveness.
Furthermore, the governing body of the APS has approved the Ship Waste Reception and Handling Plan. This document outlines the mechanisms implemented at the port to ensure proper management of waste generated by ships and smaller vessels calling at the Sevillian docks. The measure aims to protect the environment and facilitate the optimal development of maritime traffic.
