In the first seven months of the year, 4,923 new passenger cars and SUVs were sold in the province, surpassing the 4,202 units from the same period last year. This 17.2% increase translates to 721 more vehicles sold.
The main driver of this growth has been demand from private individuals, who purchased 3,753 cars, representing a 22.4% increase compared to the previous year, with 688 more units.
The sales channel to companies also showed an increase, albeit more modest, of 5.3%. Acquisitions through this channel rose from 1,108 to 1,167, an increase of 59 purchases.
Despite the positive balance for the year so far, the specific data for the month of July showed more contained growth. 778 first-hand cars were sold, only eight more than in July of the previous year, representing a 1% increase.
Private buyers were key in preventing a sales decline in July, acquiring 633 passenger cars and SUVs, 5.3% more than the previous year (32 more units). Conversely, sales to companies stalled, falling 12.1%, from 165 units sold in July 2025 to 145.
Nationally, the growth in car sales across Spain was 5.8% by July, placing the province of Córdoba above the national average. The specific growth for July in Spain was 3.7%.
It is anticipated that Córdoba will achieve its fourth consecutive year of growth in this consumption indicator. This year's figures surpass those of 2025, which already saw a 12.6% increase, adding to the rises of 4.9% in 2024 and 8.1% in 2023.
