A significant step has been taken in the collaboration between Moeve and the University of Cádiz with the inauguration of a laboratory at the Bahía de Algeciras Campus, focused on researching renewable fuels and waste utilization for energy transition.

This new facility, located at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Algeciras, aims to become a benchmark in applied research. Its primary goal is to accelerate the energy transition in the Campo de Gibraltar, a strategic industrial area.
The Moeve Laboratory for Energy Transition will focus on developing innovative solutions. Its work areas include the production of biofuels and synthetic fuels from biomass, as well as the valorization of industrial and urban waste. It will also investigate new renewable molecules, such as e-ammonia, which is emerging as a promising energy alternative.

"The laboratory represents a new step in the commitment to applied research in energy transition, a key area for the future of the industrial environment."

The project is driven by the Department of Chemical Engineering and Food Technology of the University of Cádiz, supported by the Process Analysis and Design Group with Supercritical Fluids. This team contributes its expertise in high-pressure reaction engineering, which has enabled the establishment of a high-level scientific infrastructure, equipped with advanced technology such as a hydrothermal reactor.
In addition to research, the laboratory will play a crucial role in training future professionals. Its facilities are designed to host final degree projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations, offering a first-class experimentation environment for students and researchers. This initiative also strengthens the connection between the University of Cádiz campuses, especially between Puerto Real and Algeciras, fostering synergies and greater collaboration with local companies.
Moeve's commitment to this laboratory aligns with its Positive Motion strategy, which seeks to lead the energy transition through open innovation and collaboration with academic and technological institutions.
