Mijas City Council has successfully reduced the average payment time to its suppliers to 43.93 days, marking the third-best record since the beginning of 2020.

This improvement in municipal financial management is the result of an internal reorganization strategy driven by the government team. Key measures include the creation of the Budget Management and Accounting Body, as well as the annual approval of municipal budgets, tools that have enabled the streamlining of economic procedures.
The local administration remains committed to reaching the 30-day preferred period established by current regulations. According to data presented during the July plenary session, this increased efficiency has encouraged larger companies to participate in public tenders, including major projects such as the renovation of the La Cala football field.
In parallel, the Legal Advisory report reflects a shift in the contracting model. Over the last year, administrative contracting has grown by 10%, while the use of minor contracts has decreased by more than 30%, consolidating a more structured procedural management.
This economic recovery process is complemented by the implementation of regulations such as the Municipal Organic Regulation and the Anti-Fraud Plan, which strengthen transparency and control in local government operations.
