This new establishment will be the brand's sixth in the Campo de Gibraltar region and will be situated on a plot adjacent to the Dia supermarket in Campamento. The project involves building a structure from scratch, with a total investment reaching 1.4 million euros, including taxes.
According to public information from the San Roque City Council, the restaurant will feature a single floor with a dining area spanning 138 square meters, capable of accommodating 109 diners. Additionally, it will boast an extensive outdoor terrace of 419 square meters, offering an additional 112 seats. The total capacity of the venue, including standing customers, will be 128 people.
The detailed budget indicates that urbanization works account for the largest portion of the investment, at 389,000 euros, followed by the building construction cost, which amounts to 372,000 euros. The construction period is estimated to last between three and four months. Although the total number of employees is not specified, a maximum of 10 simultaneous workers is anticipated for the restaurant.
Currently, McDonald's operates five restaurants in Campo de Gibraltar: two in Algeciras (one at Puerta Europa Shopping Center and another in Sotorrebolo), two in La Línea (one at Gran Sur Shopping Center and another facing the Gibraltar border), and one in the Palmones industrial estate in Los Barrios. The opening in Campamento will mark the chain's first venture into the municipality of San Roque.
McDonald's expansion in Andalusia is significant, with over 110 restaurants in the community and more than 660 nationwide. The company, which aims to strengthen its franchise network, announced in early April the start of construction for its eleventh establishment in Málaga city, as part of its plan to create 10,000 new jobs over the next four years.
