Workers of the Málaga Metro have called off the strikes scheduled for this week, following a preliminary agreement with the concessionaire company that could resolve a prolonged labor dispute.

After months of negotiations and mobilizations, the Málaga Metro staff has reached an understanding with the concessionaire's management. This agreement has led to the suspension of partial strikes that were planned for April 22, 23, and 24.
The dialogue process has extended for over six months, beginning on October 20, 2025. Throughout this period, the workers' representation has maintained a responsible and firm stance, actively seeking a solution to the conflict.

"Approximations have been achieved on relevant aspects of the collective agreement, as a result of the pressure exerted by the workforce and the mobilization process developed in recent weeks."

However, the reached agreement is pending ratification by the workers' assembly, which will be held next Thursday. The workforce will therefore have the final say on the validation of the agreed content.
Among the main demands of the workers were maintaining purchasing power, better work organization, regulation of continuous driving, adequate rest during night shifts, and guarantees regarding partial retirement. Additionally, they sought to equalize salary conditions with those of the Seville metro service, where a 25% wage gap had been reported.
