Málaga CF has secured a definitive judicial victory in the so-called 'Jersey Case', compelling a company to pay the club approximately 600,000 euros for advertising.

The Commercial Court No. 1 of Málaga has ruled that the company must pay Málaga CF the sum of 250,000 euros, plus interest accrued over five years. Following the club's request for provisional execution of the judgment, the court has granted the petition, meaning the demanded amount must be paid immediately.
The total figure amounts to 589,000 euros, broken down into the initial 250,000 euros plus VAT, 151,311.31 euros in accrued interest up to the date the lawsuit was filed, and 136,143.39 euros for other interest and costs. This judicial step is final, as the order, dated April 10, is not subject to appeal.
The company, through its entity Managament Empresarial, holds 47.4% of Málaga CF's shares. It must pay the amount to the blue and white club more than a decade after its advertising appeared on the team's jerseys and on advertising supports at La Rosaleda stadium.
This resolution is the outcome of the trial held in September 2024, following a postponement from the initial date scheduled for May of the same year. Málaga CF had claimed 2.65 million euros for advertising on the official jerseys for the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, the original agreement stipulated payment in three distinct parts of 1,000,000, 850,000, and 750,000 euros, amounts that never reached the club. The company had appealed the nullity of the contract signed by both parties. Although this ruling is favorable to the Málaga team, it is worth noting that an appeal is still pending before the Provincial Court of Málaga for other parts of the case.
