The Ministry of Employment, Enterprise, and Self-Employment has extended the application period for the free 5G Technologies courses, an initiative that will conclude this year. The territorial delegate, Ana Mata, emphasized the importance of this training to familiarize participants with new digital solutions and enhance their employability in a constantly changing job market.
The registration deadline, closing this week, will remain open to fill the 180 offered places. These specialized courses in Virtual and Augmented Reality, and Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Cities will run between summer and the end of the year, representing the last opportunity for free training in these areas within the program.
The province of Jaén will distribute the 180 places across two locations. In the capital, courses on Programming in Virtual and Augmented Reality and Programming of IoT and Smart City solutions will be offered. Meanwhile, Linares will provide an identical offering, with one course for each specialty. Both courses will take place during the last quarter of the year.
All information regarding the calendar, content, access requirements, and enrollment procedure is available on the portal [www.formacionen5g.es](http://www.formacionen5g.es/) and through the Virtual Office of Vocational Training for Employment of the Ministry.
The training itineraries, comprising 150 academic hours spread over eight weeks, are predominantly online (80%) and supplemented by 20% in-person sessions for practical work. The face-to-face classes will be held at the Fanogar center (Jaén) and SAFA (Linares).
The courses are primarily aimed at unemployed individuals, although 30% of unfilled places will be allocated to currently employed professionals seeking to update or expand their digital qualifications. No prior technical experience is required, but a minimum qualification such as a High School diploma, a mid or higher-level vocational training cycle, a level 3 professional certificate, or an equivalent university degree is necessary. Upon successful completion, participants will receive an accredited diploma.
This initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Employment in collaboration with Vodafone and Integra Conocimiento, aims to equip participants with emerging digital skills and tools to strengthen their position in a constantly evolving job market.
