The average pension in the province of Córdoba remains significantly below the national and Andalusia averages, with a gap that has widened over the last decade. In August, the average benefit in the province is 1,162.08 euros, compared to 1,373.44 euros for Spain as a whole.
The gap between the average Andalusian pension and the national average has grown considerably. In August 2016, the difference was 90.82 euros, while in August 2026 it has increased to 135.79 euros, an increase of nearly 50%. Despite this absolute increase, the relative weight of the gap has barely changed, with the average Andalusian pension standing 9.89% below the national average.
In relative terms, a slight convergence has been observed in recent years, with the gap narrowing for three consecutive years since 2023. The average Andalusian pension has increased by 51.96% between August 2016 and August 2026, while in Spain the growth has been 51.71%.
Andalusia registers 1,738,195 pensions in August, representing 16.5% of the national total. Seville concentrates the largest number with 416,160 pensions, followed by Málaga (302,197) and Cádiz (240,294).
Regarding amounts, Cádiz has the highest average pension in Andalusia (1,363.08 euros), approaching the Spanish average. It is followed by Seville (1,273.88 euros), Málaga (1,254.21 euros), and Huelva (1,246.73 euros). Almería records the lowest average pension (1,134.72 euros), followed by Jaén (1,151.01 euros) and Córdoba (1,162.08 euros).
By pension class, in Andalusia there are 1,032,829 retirement pensions (average of 1,431.92 euros), 228,439 permanent disability pensions (average of 1,170.16 euros), 395,643 widow's pensions (average of 907.42 euros), 68,501 orphan's pensions (average of 525.26 euros), and 12,783 survivor pensions (average of 786.41 euros).
