The Jaén Provincial Council, led by its president Paco Reyes, has brought 43 agri-food companies from 28 municipalities, along with the province's designations of origin, to Madrid to promote their products at the prestigious Gourmets Fair, held from April 13 to 16.

The president of the Jaén Provincial Council, Paco Reyes, visited the 39th edition of the Gourmets Fair, one of Europe's most important agri-food events. At this event, the provincial administration participates with a stand hosting 43 companies from 28 municipalities in Jaén, in addition to the three designations of origin from the province and the IGP Aceite de Jaén. During his visit, Reyes was accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas.

"This is a showcase that we cannot fail to take advantage of to display all the good things that the province of Jaén has in the agri-food sector. We not only have our olive oil, as we are the main producers of olive oil in the world, but also Degusta Jaén products, those companies that are synonymous with quality and are also found in our province."

Paco Reyes · President of the Jaén Provincial Council
The main objective of the Provincial Council's attendance at this fair is to promote the potential of the province of Jaén as a gastronomic destination. To this end, two showcooking sessions have been scheduled. The first, by chef Patricia Díaz from the AJ-hito restaurant, presents her “Cocina Jaenponesa” proposal, which fuses local ingredients with Japanese culinary techniques. The second, titled “Jaén en tres bocados,” will be offered by chefs Jesús Moral and Isabel Lorite from the Taberna Miguel de Bailén restaurant. Additionally, daily tastings of products grouped by categories will be offered, including extra virgin olive oils, meat products, wines, spirits, prepared foods, jams, and mineral water.
The Gourmets Fair is recognized as the largest promotional showcase for quality food and beverages in Europe and one of the best worldwide for gourmet products. The previous edition attracted nearly 118,000 visitors, featured over 1,000 accredited journalists, occupied 72,000 square meters of exhibition space, generated a business volume of 313 million euros, with the participation of some 55,000 products and over 2,000 exhibitors. The fair brings together leading national and international delicatessen firms, as well as renowned chefs and representatives from hospitality, catering, distribution, retail, and specialized press.
