Arrivals of non-residents and associated spending data, published by the National Statistics Institute (INE), confirm a sustained trend of spending growth outpacing visitor numbers, a phenomenon the tourism sector describes as an indicator of "higher quality" tourism.
In June alone, Spain received 9.7 million foreign tourists, an increase of 2.9% compared to the same month last year. The spending of these visitors in June amounted to 13.579 billion euros, a 4% rise.
