The Institute of Marine Sciences of Andalusia (ICMAN-CSIC) is participating this week in Cádiz in the 3rd Annual Meeting of the European project REWRITE, a gathering to study and restore coastal ecosystems.

The Institute of Marine Sciences of Andalusia (ICMAN-CSIC) is participating this week in the 3rd Annual Meeting of the European project REWRITE, held in Cádiz from October 6 to 8, 2026. The meeting, funded by the European Union, brings together consortium partners for the study and restoration of coastal ecosystems.
During the session dedicated to natural sciences, Alejandro Román (ICMAN-CSIC) presented the institute's work titled "Integration of Artificial Intelligence and Earth Observation data for monitoring coastal vegetated habitats". This presentation focused on integrating artificial intelligence and Earth observation data, including satellite and drone imagery, for monitoring coastal vegetated habitats.
This contribution reinforces ICMAN's research focus on applying remote sensing and artificial intelligence to the study and conservation of the marine and coastal environment.
