ICMAN-CSIC prioritizes internationalization as a cornerstone for scientific excellence and resource attraction. Martha B. Dunbar, head of ICMAN's Internationalization Office, and Mª Luisa Iglesia Chaves, a newly appointed project technician, represented the institute at workshops organized by the CSIC's Vice-Presidency for International Relations (VRI).
The 11th Meeting of Technical and Management Staff for Internationalization, held on September 22nd at the Serrano Campus in Madrid, addressed current topics such as artificial intelligence in scientific management, updates on the upcoming EU's 10th Framework Programme, best practice transfer between centers, and opportunities for international scientific and technical staff mobility.
Subsequently, from September 23rd to 25th, Mª Luisa Iglesia participated in the 2026 training program of the REDINTER 2025 Call. Over three intensive days, participants received practical training on critical aspects of pre- and post-award management for competitive proposals (such as Horizon Europe, Pro-ERC, and Pro-EIC), budget management, legal instruments for international cooperation, scientific diplomacy, and research security.
By attending these significant CSIC network meetings and expanding its human capabilities, ICMAN consolidates its structure to provide comprehensive support to researchers in securing and developing international projects.
