The city of Huelva is positioning itself as a leader in green industry by hosting the I National Congress on Circular Economy for Industrial Development in November, a forum designed to drive innovation and business sustainability.

The event, named R3genera 2026, aims to consolidate the capital of Huelva as a central hub in Spain for production models based on sustainability, efficiency, and business competitiveness. This congress joins other strategic initiatives, such as the development of green hydrogen, reinforcing Huelva's role as a sustainable industrial node in southern Europe.
The celebration of R3genera, which will take place from November 3 to 5 at the Casa Colón, is conceived as a space to generate tangible impact on the productive fabric. Over three days, companies, public administrations, experts, and universities will discuss the challenges of the circular economy in vital sectors such as energy, industry, mining, construction, and agribusiness.

"The Congress is not born by chance, but as a result of a deep conviction of the Huelva Federation of Entrepreneurs: that the future of our economy is not just about growing, but about doing it better. With more intelligence, more efficiency, and more responsibility."

José Luis García-Palacios Álvarez · President of FOE
García-Palacios highlighted the FOE's commitment to a productive model that not only generates wealth but also optimizes resources and reduces impacts, mentioning the Circular Economy Innovation Center of Andalusia (CIECA), already established in Huelva. For his part, Alberto España Prieto, commissioner of the congress, emphasized that the circular economy is a key factor for competitiveness and innovation in today's industry.
From the Junta de Andalucía, Carmen Jiménez Parrado, general director of Environmental Sustainability and Circular Economy, highlighted the technical value of the forum for knowledge exchange among various stakeholders. The president of the Huelva Provincial Council, David Toscano, stressed the importance of balancing development and environment, while the mayor of Huelva, Pilar Miranda, framed the congress within a broader strategy for the city's positioning, highlighting the circular economy as a pillar of a new industrial revolution.
The R3genera program will address crucial topics such as green financing, governance, sustainable construction, and water management, combining a strategic vision with practical applications. Driven by Huelva's business community, with the organization of FOE and AESA, the congress aims to consolidate itself as a national benchmark in circular economy applied to industry, complementing other initiatives such as the National Green Hydrogen Congress.
