The mayor of El Ejido and the councilor for Agriculture have visited the facilities of the Berdea company, located in Las Norias. This company specializes in the commercialization of zucchini and eggplant, products it distributes in European markets under its brands King Courgette and Queen Aubergine.
During the tour, local authorities discussed with the company's management the development of the current campaign, which has faced challenges due to unstable weather conditions and the appearance of pests that have affected production. Emphasis was placed on the growth and consolidation of this business project, driven by a family group with over 25 years of experience in the Almerian horticultural sector.
“"The importance of having dynamic companies with a future vision like Berdea, which represent generational change and the commitment of El Ejido's agricultural sector to sustainability, innovation, digitalization, and differentiation."
The municipal leadership also positively valued Berdea's dedication to training and its capacity for adaptation and modernization, crucial aspects for a strategic sector such as the local agro-industrial one. The company collaborates with approximately 70 farmers and manages over 100 hectares of high-quality production, destined for European markets.
