The agri-food brand 'Sabor Granada', promoted by the Diputación de Granada, is showcasing its potential at the 39th edition of Salón Gourmets in Madrid with a delegation of 17 companies, aiming to strengthen its international presence and access new markets.
Granada's participation in this leading European event is strategically integrated within the Andalucía stand, located in Pavilion 5, and is supported by the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of the Junta de Andalucía. The primary goal is to showcase the quality of Granada's products to national and international distributors, as well as to key representatives of the Horeca channel.
Among the 17 companies representing the province are Leivamar, Destilerías Rosas, Quesería Collados, Patatas Peñagallo, and La Tarta de la Madre de Cris. The extra virgin olive oil sector is strongly represented by firms such as Aceites Quaryat Dillar, Aceites D’Villalta, Aceites Vergara BIO, Aceites OMED (Venchipa S.L.), and Aceites Arkilakis. The delegation is completed by Bodegas Espadafor, Cárnicas Genil with their Olé Mis Croquetas, Trezesferas, Abuela Ili Chocolates, Embutidos Doña Carmen, Finca Sulayr, and Jamones Quesada Carpio.
The program of activities for 'Sabor Granada' at the Andalucía stand includes live cooking demonstrations, presented by Bosco Benítez and led by chef Ismael Delgado, from the Granada restaurant Portal Bajo I. These culinary showcases have highlighted the diversity and quality of local products, from ham carving by Quesada Carpio to the fusion of flavors with Motril shrimp and Quaryat Dillar olive oils.
The highlight of Granada's participation will be this Thursday at the Gourmets Forum in Pavilion 3. For four hours, 'Sabor Granada' will lead the central stage with a program presented by Manuel Balanzino, where five renowned chefs will demonstrate the province's culinary talent. Among them, Lola Marín from Damasqueros, Juan Pedro Ortiz and Periko Ortega, Javier Feixas from Ruta del Azafrán, and Raúl Sierra from Atelier Casa de Comidas, who will pair their creations with DOP Granada wines from wineries such as Haza del Lino, Vilaplana, Fontedei, Muñana, and Calvente.
