The aerostatic company Globotur, based in Andalusia, commemorates fifteen years of operation, establishing itself as a benchmark in balloon tourism and accumulating numerous national and international accolades.

Since its founding in 2011, Globotur has transformed the Andalusian sky into a prestigious tourist destination, even being featured by National Geographic. The company, which operates in Seville, Cadiz, and Malaga, has surpassed the average lifespan of limited companies in Spain, which ranges between 7.6 and 8.5 years.
Founder and CEO, Javier Benítez Lázaro, began his involvement with aerostation in 2004. Seven years later, with the support of Miguel Pérez-Luna and Juan Carlos Domínguez, he established Globotur, initially focused on advertising. Their first major campaign, Lluvia de Plátanos for Plátano de Canarias in 2013, was awarded the Alimentaria Prize for Best Integrated Campaign. In 2016, The Briefers included it among the top 20 event agencies in the country.
The tourist flight division, Globotur Fly Experience, launched in 2019 with the backing of Elena González Godoy, quickly positioning itself as a leader in its operating areas. Thousands of travelers have since enjoyed aerial views over iconic locations such as Arcos de la Frontera, the Vega de Antequera, the Corredor Verde del Guadiamar, and the vineyards of Ronda.
During the pandemic, Globotur demonstrated its adaptability. It organized innovative events such as the flight of the Three Wise Men over Seville and the "Sevillanas dance" of balloons during a Feria de Abril without in-person celebrations. Additionally, it collaborated with the Spanish Red Cross, raising funds for its Responde Plan.
The company has also been a cornerstone in organizing sporting events, having managed five consecutive Copas de S.M. el Rey de Aerostación, the 38th Spanish Championship in 2022, and the Andalusia Championship and International Andalusia Open in 2021 and 2023. These achievements place it among the most prominent companies in the Spanish aerostatic sector.

"As a company, we are not discouraged by what the future holds; we are discouraged by standing still."

Javier Benítez · CEO of Globotur
In its commitment to education, Globotur has implemented the free program Up to the Science, bringing the science of flight to Andalusian schoolchildren, and has launched the 1st Children's Story Contest Volando Alto.
Among the numerous awards that endorse its trajectory are the Gold Medal from the Spanish Association of Image Professionals (2017), the Gold Star for Professional Excellence (2018), and the European Award for Business Innovation and Digitalization, in addition to its editorial presence in Viajes National Geographic.
In 2020, the company instituted the Tourism Value Awards, a non-profit initiative to recognize contributions to the excellence of Andalusian tourism. The 6th edition, held in January 2026 at the Real Venta de Antequera, honored entities such as the Real Alcázar de Sevilla, Real Betis Balompié, Sevilla FC, and National Geographic, consolidating this event as a benchmark in the sector.
Looking ahead, Globotur aims for the Andalusian sky to be declared a Tourist Interest of Andalusia, an ambitious proposal that seeks to leverage the region's 300 days of sunshine annually and unique orography to boost hot air balloon tourism.
