The new Galician airline Fly2Galicia has included the connection between Granada and Santiago de Compostela as one of its initial routes. According to preliminary information, the company plans to start operations on December 1st with two weekly round-trip frequencies.
This route is part of Fly2Galicia's initial schedule, which includes a network of eight national and European destinations from the Santiago de Compostela airport. In addition to Granada, the company will fly to Alicante, Zaragoza, Brussels, Munich, Milan-Malpensa, Prague, and Venice. The connection to Alicante will have three weekly frequencies.
The promoting company has advertised this new connection on its social media channels. Currently, neither public institutions nor the Granada airport itself have made an official announcement regarding this route, with information originating exclusively from the company.
Fly2Galicia intends to launch its website soon to offer tickets for its first season, with flights scheduled until October 24, 2027. The airline aims to use Santiago de Compostela as a base to expand air connections from Galicia.
The introduction of this route coincides with a significant final four months of 2026 for Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport, which plans to reinstate and launch several new destinations after the summer. Flights to Nantes, London, and Santander are expected to return, along with new connections to Porto, Bilbao, and Valencia.
The route to Nantes will resume on September 8th with two weekly frequencies. Subsequently, on October 27th, the connection to London operated by Wizz Air will be reinstated. In November, Volotea will launch the route to Porto, and the connection to Santander will be recovered. New routes to Bilbao and Valencia will be added by the end of the year.
This expansion in air services occurs prior to 2027, a year marked by the temporary closure of the airport for 21 days, from May 5th to 27th, due to runway regeneration works.
