The CETEDEX facilities are in a "very advanced" state, with its most complex infrastructure now completed. The Secretary of State highlighted that 37 technological innovation projects linked to the center are already underway and their success is guaranteed. By the end of December, over one hundred individuals, including military personnel, researchers, and technologists, will be working at the center, with plans to expand the workforce to its maximum capacity starting in January.
Among the CETEDEX's most notable assets are three cutting-edge technology facilities that will be pioneering in Spain and rare within the European Union and NATO: an anechoic chamber, an anti-drone simulator, and a laser tunnel. The center is set to "generate a wave of innovation from Jaén for Andalusia and for Spain."
The President of the Provincial Council, Paco Reyes, emphasized the "tractor effect" that the CETEDEX announcement has had on the province's business sector since the commitment made by the President of the Government on December 2, 2022. Examples of this impact include the establishment of Escribano in Linares and Bedmar, the installation of FMG also in Linares, the expansion of business lines for Meltio, and the arrival of companies such as SAPA Placencia and Capgemini. Reyes congratulated INTA for meeting the established deadlines.
Mayor Millán described the center as "an unstoppable project," recalling the contributions from local institutions: the cession of 8.5 hectares by the City Council for the main campus and over 600 hectares from the Provincial Council for the advanced testing ground. He concluded by stating that "Jaén will be at the forefront of technological development in defense in our country, in the European Union, and in the world."
