Two extra virgin olive oils (EVOO) from the Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) Priego de Córdoba have been recognized at the 8th edition of the International Virtus Awards 2026, an internationally renowned competition.

The organization of the international competition has announced the results of its eighth edition, consolidating the event as a benchmark in the evaluation and promotion of Extra Virgin Olive Oils (EVOO) worldwide. On this occasion, two oils from the DOP Priego de Córdoba have been awarded.
According to the DOP itself, the awarded oils are El Empiedro, from SCA Olivarera la Purísima, which won the Silver Medal, and Olobrácana, from the company SCA Nuestra Señora del Carmen of Almedinilla (Brácana), which obtained the Grand Gold Medal. These accolades highlight the high quality of the region's olive juices.
The competition, held in La Rábida, Huelva, featured a prestigious international panel of tasters, sommeliers, technicians, and sensory analysis specialists. These experts blindly evaluated hundreds of samples from various producing countries.
In the Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) category, the awarded oils stood out for their exceptional sensory quality, balance, and aromatic complexity, reaffirming the leadership of Spain and Portugal in the production of excellent extra virgin olive oils.
