The Provincial Council of Córdoba, through the Provincial Energy Agency, has raised the funding for energy efficiency subsidies to 1,800,000 euros. This decision addresses the significant demand for projects submitted by local entities, businesses, and senior residential centers.
Tatiana Pozo, head of Energy at the institution and president of the Energy Agency, announced that 214 applications have been received, prompting a credit modification of an additional 300,000 euros. "We have designed a more accessible, clearer, and better-oriented call for applications," stated Pozo, highlighting the increase as a "statement of intent" by the Council regarding the energy transition.
The budgetary increase will particularly strengthen support for companies and cooperatives, doubling the allocation for these initiatives to 700,000 euros for 2026. Pozo emphasized that "betting on companies is betting on employment, innovation, and a more solid economic model."
Aid for local entities, including pensioner centers and senior residential centers, will be definitively resolved during September. Pozo confirmed that "all projects submitted under these lines that meet the criteria will be subsidized."
It is expected that around 71 initiatives will be subsidized, representing a 14% increase in funded projects compared to the previous year. The most common projects include photovoltaic self-consumption, efficient lighting, and building envelope improvements.
Pozo stressed that the energy transition "must reach every corner" of the province, benefiting towns, municipalities, businesses, and citizens in an "balanced, fair, and effective" manner.
