The Córdoba City Council, through the Municipal Institute for Economic Development and Employment (Imdeec), has unveiled a crucial initiative to position the city as a strategic logistics hub in southern Europe, driven by the Clúster Andalucía Logistics.

The project, titled “Innovation and Business Competitiveness in the Logistics Sector in Andalusia,” is already underway and falls within the framework of aid for Non-Profit Organizations (ESAL). Its primary goal is to attract investment to Córdoba and strengthen the local productive fabric through business cooperation.

"Collaboration between the public sector, companies, and knowledge will enable Córdoba to face future challenges and strengthen its brand in the logistics field at national and international levels."

Blanca Torrent · President of Imdeec
Blanca Torrent, president of Imdeec, emphasized the importance of logistics in Córdoba's economy, highlighting the impetus from projects like the Army Logistics Base (BLET), which consolidates the city as a fundamental intermodal hub. The initiative seeks to create meeting spaces between companies and public entities to foster knowledge exchange and sector transformation.
To date, the project has organized two technical workshops in the ports of Seville and Huelva, facilitating practical knowledge and identifying collaboration opportunities. Soon, new actions will be carried out in locations such as the dry port of Antequera and the ports of Algeciras and Motril. The program will culminate with a final forum in Córdoba, where results will be analyzed, and a roadmap will be established to improve the technical and digital capacity of businesses.

"It's about selling from Córdoba to Andalusia."

Miguel Ángel Tamarit · President of Clúster Andalucía Logistics
Miguel Ángel Tamarit, president of Clúster Andalucía Logistics, highlighted the transversal and strategic nature of the project, focused on projecting Córdoba's logistics capabilities throughout Andalusia. More than 150 entrepreneurs have participated in the workshops, addressing topics such as digitalization, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and internationalization. Tamarit also stressed the role of existing infrastructures in Córdoba, including the Logistics Base, the dry port, and the airport, as investment attractors. The urbanization of the La Rinconada business park, scheduled for completion by the end of 2027, exemplifies business interest in the area.
The project will continue its expansion into other Andalusian provinces in the coming months, with the goal of consolidating Córdoba as a logistics benchmark, boosting job creation, and generating new business opportunities in a sector that already accounts for approximately 6.5% of Andalusia's GDP. The Clúster Andalucía Logistics aims to have at least 60 affiliated entities by the end of 2026.
