The Provincial Council of Córdoba and the Union of Small Farmers (UPA) have signed an agreement to promote training and qualification for farmers and ranchers in the province, aiming for balanced and sustainable rural development.

The agreement, signed by the president of the provincial institution, Salvador Fuentes, and the general secretary of UPA, Francisco Moreno, includes the development of seven training actions. These will focus on the application of phytosanitary products, pruning of olive groves and alternative crops, as well as the use of drones in agriculture.
Salvador Fuentes emphasized that the training aims to enhance the professional qualifications of those working in rural areas, providing them with more tools and knowledge to strengthen Córdoba's agri-food industry. He highlighted the need to adapt to sector changes to increase productivity and competitiveness.
The president of the Provincial Council also stressed the challenge of generational renewal in Córdoba's agriculture, noting that the agreement will pay special attention to young people and the incorporation of women into the agri-food sector.
It is estimated that over 100 people from the province will benefit from these training actions, which aim to increase the sector's profitability, facilitate generational renewal, and professionalize the agri-food industry, present in most municipalities.
