The company Claros SCA will soon take over the management of the home care service in the city of Baza. The firm emerged as the winner of the bidding process initiated by the City Council following the termination of the previous contractor.
The project presented by Claros SCA received the highest score from municipal technicians among the four submitted candidacies. The Consistory highlighted that this ensures the security and stability of a service "especially sensitive" for workers, users, and their families. The final award was approved by majority in the July ordinary plenary session.
The contract will be for an initial period of one year, extendable for up to three additional years with mutual agreement. The total annual economic amount is 5,622,178.75 euros, potentially reaching 21,623,764 euros if the company completes the full four years. The initial hourly rate is set at 17.46 euros.
Currently, the Home Care Service in Baza has 270 workers and more than 1,000 users, numbers expected to grow. The governing team described Claros SCA's proposal as "solid, safe, and stable," focusing on the person and including mechanisms to improve the relationship with users and auxiliaries. The new company will take over all workers from day one.
The new management will introduce innovations such as a dedicated reception staff for face-to-face and telephone assistance to auxiliaries and users, an on-call team to resolve weekend incidents, and an evening on-call shift, aiming to facilitate interactions with users and workers.
The award was the main item on the agenda of the ordinary plenary session held on Thursday, July 30. Prior to this, the hourly rate for the service was unanimously approved for an update, increasing from 16.63 to 17.46 euros, a 5% rise with retroactive effect from January 1, 2026.
The plenary session began with a minute of silence for victims of gender-based violence and workplace accidents. The mayor also expressed Baza's solidarity with citizens affected by the forest fires ravaging the country. Additionally, a recognition of extraordinary credit for just over 6,000 euros was approved.
In urgent matters, a motion presented by CxB regarding a regional strategy for forest fire prevention and green employment in the Sierra de Baza was debated and approved by majority.
During the questions and requests section, topics such as city cleaning, the summer health situation in the area, the Commonwealth's gardening service, and the potable water transfer project from the Portillo reservoir were discussed and answered by the governing team.
