The city of Cadiz has commenced the construction of a new three-star hotel on Avenida de Portugal. This project will add 26 rooms and a rooftop pool to the local tourism offering, with completion anticipated by the last quarter of 2027.

This new establishment, promoted by a local company from Cadiz, will be located a short distance from the existing Hotel Occidental Cadiz. The management of the future complex will be handled by a specialized operator in the tourism sector, whose name and the final designation of the hotel are yet to be decided.
The construction, with an 18-month execution period, coincides with the semi-pedestrianization works on Avenida de Portugal, promoted by the City Council. This urban intervention aims to reduce traffic and noise, expanding pedestrian areas and creating a single platform, which will benefit both the new hotel and the existing one in the area.
The construction of this hotel joins other ongoing hotel projects in Cadiz. Among them, a hotel by a hotel chain at the Nuevo Mirandilla stadium is nearing completion, with its inauguration expected next summer. Progress is also being made on what will be the first five-star hotel in Alameda, managed by a major hotel group, initially scheduled to open in the second half of this year.
Additionally, projects are underway in Sopranis and Rosario streets, involving the rehabilitation of large buildings in narrow thoroughfares. Work is also being done on adapting one of the properties of the Casa de las Cuatro Torres for hotel use, expanding an existing residence. Construction of another five-star hotel in the train station lobby building is expected to begin this year, and authorization for a luxury center in Puerto América is pending.
