The Jaén Provincial Council concluded the V Food and Gastronomy Fair Degusta en Jaén with the presentation of awards to new producers, businesses, and restaurants, as well as chefs joining the strategy to promote local products.

During the final day of the event, held at the Provincial Palace of Fairs and Congresses of Jaén, a representative from the Provincial Council participated in various activities. The fair, which had been running since last Friday, featured over fifty agri-food companies from the provinces of Jaén and Granada, offering around 50 proposals.
Among the highlighted activities, the Provincial Council representative attended the presentation of the Taller LabOleo –Scientific Laboratory of Extra Virgin Olive Oil– project and was present at the Hosturjaén assembly. These meetings underscore the commitment to innovation and development in the agri-food sector of the region.
Additionally, fifteen plaques bearing the Degusta Jaén brand were awarded to producers, businesses, and restaurants joining this initiative. Jackets were also presented to chefs who have recently adhered to the strategy promoted by the Provincial Council. The day included the awards ceremony for the XII Andalusian Young Cooks Competition and the I Andalusian Young Waiters and Waitresses Competition, organized by the Andalusian Federation of Gastronomic Brotherhoods and Associations (FECOAN).
The program was completed with tastings of extra virgin olive oils, wines, vermouth, and liqueurs from the province, featuring the participation of the Jaén Sommeliers Association. A talk on the Degusta Jaén gluten-free initiative and a show cooking session were also held, involving restaurants from Degusta Jaén and Sabor Granada, as well as a chef with a Michelin star.
