The prestigious Conde Nast Traveler Hot List has included several Spanish establishments in this year's edition, solidifying the country's reputation as a luxury destination. Among those selected, a hotel in Marbella and a guest house in Seville have garnered attention, alongside two prominent hotels in Madrid.
The Marbella hotel, following a 45 million euro renovation, has been transformed into a luxury resort featuring tropical gardens, an extensive spa, and a range of upscale dining options. Its appeal is further enhanced by the presence of the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre, the first on the Spanish mainland, and its proximity to Nikki Beach. This establishment, dating back to the 1960s, stands out as one of the few high-rise buildings in the city, which is otherwise characterized by its low-rise skyline.
Meanwhile, Seville has joined the list with a guest house that offers a more intimate and homely experience, complete with relaxed spaces and an inviting pool. This Sevillian establishment is described as a character-led hideaway, feeling more like a stylish private home than a traditional hotel.
“"The location and staff couldn't be more perfect."
Madrid has also secured two spots on this influential global ranking. The Metropolis hotel, crowned by its iconic Winged Victory statue, has been reborn as one of the capital's most ambitious and visually striking hospitality projects in decades. Similarly, the historic Palace Hotel, which has hosted numerous personalities, has reclaimed its historically glamorous status following a full restoration, blending classic grandeur with modern luxury and serving as a hub of Madrid's social life since 1912.
The Catalan capital, Barcelona, also features on the list with a century-old hotel at the foot of the Collserola mountains, which has been completely redesigned with 70 rooms and suites, offering a more contemporary feel. Beyond Spain, neighboring Portugal strengthens the Iberian Peninsula's presence with two additional hotels making the list, highlighting the bold design of one in Alentejo and another in the north of the country.
