Modern port facilities with an exclusive cruise terminal in Almería.

The Port Authority of Almería (APA) is participating in the Seatrade Cruise Med fair in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to promote the destination and its new infrastructure.

The Port of Almería aims to enhance its appeal for cruise tourism by presenting its new independent terminal for cruise passengers and progress in its port-city opening. The Port Authority of Almería (APA), along with the Almería City Council and the Bahía Almeriport Foundation, attended the Seatrade Cruise Med fair, held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the leading professional event for the sector in the Mediterranean.
APA President Rosario Soto detailed the ongoing investment to encourage shipping lines to choose the Port of Almería, with the goal of increasing calls and extending the tourist season. An investment of over 40 million euros is planned between 2027 and 2028 to improve port facilities and services, adding to the 16 million already invested since 2023 in the first phase of the port-city opening and the new cruise passenger walkway.
Soto explained the commitment to quality tourism, highlighting the award for the construction of an exclusive cruise passenger terminal, separate from other passengers, at the maritime station. This project, with an investment of approximately 700,000 euros, will offer direct access to the city center and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.
Furthermore, over the next two years, the second phase of urban port-city integration, the new maritime station enclosure, and the reorganization of the passenger area in Ribera II will be carried out. The APA will also tender the facilities of the Maritime Captaincy and Maritime Rescue for cultural and social use.
At the Seatrade Cruise Med, the Port of Almería, supported by the Bahía Almeriport Foundation, the Almería City Council, and ‘Suncruise Andalucía’, has an exhibition space within the State Ports stand to hold commercial meetings with shipping lines and tour operators.
