Aldi's expansion in Andalucía is marked by the reopening of its store in La Cala de Mijas on April 28 and the inauguration of its first supermarket in Fuengirola on April 29. This strategic move follows the recent opening of its 500th store in Spain, located in Mijas.
The new Fuengirola establishment is located at Calle Malvarrosa, 1, in the Los Pacos neighborhood. It will feature a sales area of 1,000 square meters and a team of 14 professionals, half of whom are new local hires, as reported by the company.
Meanwhile, the La Cala de Mijas store reopens its doors after a "comprehensive update of its facilities and an expansion." The renovation includes over 200 additional square meters of sales area, optimization of the warehouse and internal dependencies, as well as 13 new parking spaces to facilitate access.
With over 1,700 professionals in the region and more than 500 in the province of Málaga, Andalucía stands as the autonomous community with the largest presence of the chain in Spain. This growth is supported by a robust logistics network, with a platform in Dos Hermanas efficiently supplying all stores in the southern peninsula.
Aldi has announced that it will maintain this growth pace, with another opening planned in the province of Málaga within the next three months. The company aims to bring its offerings closer to more households, with an ambitious plan to open 40 new supermarkets across Spain during 2026.
