The union UGT FICA Jaén has reached a preliminary agreement for the provincial wood industry convention, securing a cumulative salary increase of 9.5% for approximately 3,000 workers in the Province of Jaén.

After more than five and a half months of negotiations and ten meetings between employers and unions, a consensus has been reached for the years 2026, 2027, and 2028. This agreement establishes a salary increase of 4.5% for 2026, followed by 2.5% for 2027 and another 2.5% for 2028.
The agreement includes a salary guarantee clause for the last two years, ensuring a minimum cumulative increase of 9.5%. The economic effects of this preliminary agreement will be applied starting from January 1, 2026.
The final wording of the text will be finalized in upcoming meetings. Additionally, a period of between 15 days and six months has been set to define the adjustment of professional categories, which could lead to an additional salary increase for some employees in the sector.

"This salary increase brings the working conditions of the sector's employees closer to current reality."
