The ports of Valencia, Sagunto, and Gandia moved 2,819,602 TEUs (standard 20-foot containers) during the first six months of 2026, a slight increase of 0.20% compared to the same period last year. In June alone, 502,095 TEUs were managed, up 0.35% from June 2025.
Full import containers were key to this performance, with 559,825 units unloaded, representing an 11.14% increase. Conversely, export containers decreased by 0.84%, totaling 451,669 units.
In terms of weight, 39,917,708 tons of goods were handled, a 3.12% year-on-year decrease. However, cargo loading and unloading showed a positive trend, with 24,989,644 tons (+1.63%), largely due to a 6.43% increase in discharges.
Rail traffic continues to show strong momentum, with a 19.51% increase in tonnage (1,957,136 tons) and a 16.78% rise in container volume (144,803 TEUs).
Automobile traffic also grew by 9.33%, reaching 276,930 units. The Port of Sagunto was particularly notable, with a 24.26% increase and 110,001 vehicles handled.
Passenger traffic saw 612,305 users, a 9.63% decrease, mainly due to a decline in cruise traffic (-23.88%). In contrast, regular line passengers increased by 2.53%, totaling 374,758 people.
China remains the main trading partner, with 469,504 TEUs (+25.14%), followed by the United States (167,540 TEUs, -14.01%) and Algeria (156,822 TEUs, -3.78%).
