The new Digital Center of the United Nations Secretariat in Quart de Poblet positions Valencia as a key hub in global technology, enhancing cybersecurity and the organization's digital transformation.

The Second Vice President and Minister of the Presidency, José Díez, highlighted the importance of the consolidated presence of the United Nations' technological ecosystem in the Valencian territory. According to Díez, this fact, along with the sustained development of strategic capabilities, makes Valencia a benchmark in technology applied to security.
These statements were made during the presentation of the Digital Center of the United Nations Secretariat, located at the UN Support Base in Quart de Poblet. The event was attended by various personalities, including the Assistant Secretary-General and Director of Information Technology of the United Nations, Bernardo Mariano, and the Director-General for United Nations, International Organizations and Human Rights of the Government of Spain, Lucía García.

"This new digital center represents a strategic step for the United Nations and also for the Valencian Community, consolidating a trajectory initiated in 2011 based on cooperation, institutional trust, and a shared vision of the role of innovation in serving people."

José Díez · Second Vice President and Minister of the Presidency
The selection of the Quart de Poblet base to host this new UN digital hub is a recognition of the Generalitat's capacity to assume this responsibility. The region offers an environment with talent, connectivity, robust infrastructure, institutional cooperation capacity, and a clear international vocation.
The center will position the Valencian Community as the first node of a future global network of strategic digital centers for the world organization. Its technological infrastructure will strengthen critical capacity to sustain global operations, enhance cybersecurity, integrate advanced technologies, and support the digital transformation of an essential institution for international governance.
The Digital Center of the United Nations Secretariat is the first ICT operations center established by this body, making Valencia the "technological heart of the UN" with support from Brindisi (Italy). Its operationalization marks the UN's transition towards a modern and shared digital infrastructure, prepared for the challenges of the coming decades. It will manage critical digital services, from global connectivity to ICT security oversight, incident protection and response, enterprise applications, data platforms, analytical capabilities, and artificial intelligence environments.
