The projects approved by the Department of Urban Planning, Housing and Licenses will allow for the construction of 2,634 rooms. This investment, which exceeds 400 million euros, aims to strengthen economic dynamism and the professionalization of the local tourism sector.
According to municipal forecasts, this activity will have a direct impact on the labor market, with the creation of more than 1,350 direct jobs and about 7,000 indirect ones. The council seeks to attract investments that add value and quality to the city's offerings.
The granting of these licenses is part of the current government team's strategy to streamline administrative processing, reduce uncertainty for companies, and strengthen the response capacity of municipal services.
The municipal strategy also includes the regulation of tourist accommodation through new urban planning regulations. This rule aims to protect 98% of homes for residential use and establish demanding requirements for tourist-use dwellings, in order to improve neighborhood coexistence and avoid disorderly growth.
