The city of Valencia is preparing to host the third edition of EGEC (Energy Global Expo & Congress) from November 30 to December 2. This event, driven by AVAESEN, the Energy Cluster of the Valencian Community, and the Generalitat Valenciana, aims to consolidate the region as a benchmark for public-private dialogue, energy innovation, and opportunities for decarbonization.
EGEC 2026 will feature an extensive congress program, an exhibition area, and parallel activities. These will include B2B meetings, technological showcases of products and prototypes, software demonstrations, gamification dynamics with Virtual Reality, and a television studio for interviews.
Marcos J. Lacruz, president of AVAESEN, highlighted that the energy transition represents a key industrial and economic opportunity for the Valencian Community. He emphasized collaboration as an essential tool to transform this vision into investment, innovation, and quality employment, establishing EGEC as a reference event nationwide.
For his part, Ricardo Romaguera, president of the Energy Cluster of the Valencian Community, stressed the importance of combining capabilities and knowledge to enhance the competitiveness of the business fabric. He noted that EGEC exemplifies the ability to achieve common goals when the private sector and public institutions align to lead the energy transition with rigor and innovation.
The inaugural day, Monday, November 30, will take place at the Veles e Vents building with the III Night of Energy, which will include a reception, institutional speeches, entertainment activities, and awards.
On December 1 and 2, the congress will move to the Roig Arena. The first day will focus on electrification as a driver of industrial competitiveness, addressing energy security, industrial relocation, collective self-consumption, and the municipal role in decarbonization.
The second day will delve into the new geopolitical reality of energy and regulatory challenges, including electricity demand for artificial intelligence and data centers. Topics such as agrovoltaics, plant refinancing, and the definition of the optimal energy mix for Spain will also be debated.
With this edition, AVAESEN, the Energy Cluster, and the Generalitat Valenciana reaffirm their commitment to a competitive energy transition connected with economic, industrial, and climate challenges.
