The initiative is designed to benefit the 141 municipalities that have delegated their fiscal powers to the provincial body. The funds come from surpluses generated by Suma's favorable budgetary results, and their granting will be subject to final approval by the plenary session of the Alicante Provincial Council.
The distribution of funds will be structured in two distinct tranches. First, a fixed amount of 4,000 euros will be assigned to each municipality. Subsequently, the remaining budget will be distributed proportionally until the available funds are exhausted. In no case may the grant exceed the cost that each local entity paid during 2025 for the service provided by the body.
According to the entity's officials, improvements in operational efficiency, expenditure control, and technological investments have allowed for a progressive reduction in the fees paid by municipalities. This management has enabled the fiscal year to close with a positive result that will now be used to alleviate the economic burden on local corporations.
