The tax authority of the Provincial Council of Alicante has improved its economic results in the first voluntary tax payment period, achieving a figure of 190 million euros. This amount represents an increase of 5.71% compared to the previous year, translating into greater support for the province's town councils. This period, which took place between March 5th and May 11th, included the collection of taxes such as the Vehicle Tax and fees for driveways and urban waste collection.
The President of the Provincial Council, Toni Pérez, highlighted Suma's solidity as a collaborator for the municipalities, calling it a "fundamental pillar of support". Pérez emphasized that the entity is on "a path of improvement in services and quality" offered to both citizens and municipalities.
For his part, the Director of Suma, José Antonio Belso, pointed out the importance of these positive results, as they "allow us to strengthen our support for town councils, our capacity to offer them advances, and our service to citizens". In this regard, a total of 15,278 people have benefited from the installment and deferral plans offered by the body, a 2.74% increase from the previous year.
Belso stressed that "people are the central core of our management" and that responses are oriented towards their needs. He added that citizens also indirectly benefit from the support Suma provides to town councils, as the results obtained are aimed at improving public services.
Revenue has shown sustained growth in recent years, rising from 149 million euros in 2024 to the current 190 million. Toni Pérez reiterated that "Suma is a great ally of municipalities, citizens, and public officials", as its work "allows for the consolidation and assurance of municipal service operations".
Following these results, Suma Gestión Tributaria opened the second voluntary payment period on July 27th, which will conclude on October 8th. This period manages the collection of the Real Estate Tax (IBI) and the Economic Activities Tax (IAE), among others, for all municipalities in the province, with the exception of Alicante and Xàbia.
