Ontinyent is organizing the 'Level Up' Employment Fair at Sala Gomis on Friday, October 23rd, which already boasts over 40 job offers and the participation of 20 companies.

The initiative, promoted by Cámara Valencia and the Provincial Council of Valencia with the collaboration of the Ontinyent City Council, aims to facilitate job placement and skills improvement. Attendees will be able to connect with companies seeking staff and participate in job interviews.
The mayor of Ontinyent, Jorge Rodríguez, and the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Natàlia Enguix, have presented the event. Rodríguez highlighted the combination of continuous training and the opportunity to interview with various companies in one location, thereby easing access to the labor market.
Natàlia Enguix, also first vice-president of the Provincial Council of Valencia, emphasized that employment is a municipal priority. She noted that unemployment figures in Ontinyent have significantly decreased over the last fifteen years, from 4,214 unemployed individuals in May 2011 to 2,261 in March 2026, a reduction of 46.3%. However, she pointed out that over 2,000 people still require employment opportunities.
The data also indicates that women constitute 58% of the unemployed population, and individuals over 45 years old face challenges in re-entering the workforce. By sector, services account for 61% of registered unemployment (1,455 people), followed by industry with 527 people (22.3%).
The Employment Fair is part of a broader strategy to promote labor insertion. The 2023 edition facilitated 257 job interviews among 543 registered participants and 17 companies, results that encourage the continuation of this initiative.
The program coordinator, Miguel Ángel Ferri, explained that the fair, running from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, will feature a conference by Anna Añón, a session where participating companies will outline desired competencies, and a workshop led by Juan José Agudó. Selected individuals can conduct interviews and attend scheduled training activities. Further information is available at feriaempleovalencia.com/val.
