Onda will be the center of economic and industrial debate next Friday, June 12th, with the conference 'Geopolitics to Understand the World and Boost Competitiveness', organized by the City Council and the Chamber of Commerce of Castellón.

The conference, held at La Campaneta, is aimed at industrial, exporting, and logistics companies, as well as manufacturers in the ceramics cluster. The event seeks to analyze how major international movements, global uncertainty, trade tensions, and market transformations are shaping the present and future of the business fabric in the province of Castellón.
Topics such as the war in Ukraine, the economic standoff between the United States and China, the conflict in the Middle East, new tariffs, and industrial strategies will be addressed to translate international geopolitics into the daily reality of local businesses.
The Mayor of Onda, Carmina Ballester, highlighted the importance of this meeting: "Geopolitics is no longer something distant that only affects governments. Today, it influences energy, exports, production costs, or the supply chains of our companies." She added that "we want Onda to continue being an industrial benchmark, and for this, it is essential to bring strategic knowledge and useful tools to our SMEs and the ceramics sector."
The keynote speech will be delivered by José Ignacio Torreblanca, a professor at UNED and Senior Adviser at the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). Under the title 'The End of the Rules-Based Order and New Global Realignment: Geopolitical Risks and Opportunities for Europe', he will analyze the challenges facing Europe in areas such as economic security, digital sovereignty, strategic autonomy, and trade agreements.
The session will focus on how this new international landscape directly affects strategic sectors for Onda and the province, particularly the ceramics industry, logistics, and exporting companies, which are forced to adapt to an increasingly competitive and changing environment.
Following the conference, scheduled from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM, an open debate will be held to analyze risks and opportunities. The event will conclude with a networking session to foster the exchange of experiences among participating companies, executives, and institutions.
Participation is free, although capacity is limited and places will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested individuals can now register through the form provided by the organization.
