Data from the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migrations indicates that the Foia de Castalla region experienced a slowdown in Social Security affiliation during July. A total of 18,882 workers were affiliated, representing a loss of 247 jobs compared to June.
This decline breaks a streak of six consecutive months of growth that began in January. Last June had marked the highest figure of the year with 19,129 contributors. Despite July's drop, the current figure remains the third-best of 2026.
Breaking down the data, 81% of affiliates belong to the general regime, totaling 15,267 workers. Self-employed workers represent 18.4%, amounting to 3,471 individuals. Additionally, there are 58 contributors in the agricultural sector, 85 in the domestic sector, and one in the special maritime regime.
By locality, Ibi registered 11,183 affiliates, Castalla added 4,613, Onil reached 2,372, and Tibi accounted for 714 contributors.
Comparing with July of the previous year, the current situation is better, as 18,680 affiliates were counted then, 202 fewer than now.
Regarding hiring, 1,335 contracts were formalized in Foia de Castalla in July, of which 812 were in the industrial sector. Meanwhile, 2,633 people were actively seeking employment, according to Labora data.
