The Ford factory in Almussafes will produce the new multi-energy SUV from the Bronco saga starting in 2028, as confirmed by Jim Baumbick, president of Ford Europe.

The Valencian plant of Ford in Almussafes will manufacture from 2028 the new model of the Bronco saga, a robust and multi-energy compact SUV. This announcement comes after years of uncertainty for the workforce, who have been waiting five years for concrete plans regarding the factory's future.
The new vehicle, scheduled for sale in late 2029, is part of a broader plan by Ford Europe that includes seven new models and intelligent technology to compete in the European market. The company is renewing its passenger car lineup with five new multi-energy vehicles, which will combine 'off-road' DNA with rally tradition.
The Almussafes plant, which currently only manufactures the Kuga model, has its entire workforce of 4,152 employees affected by a rotating ERTE (temporary layoff scheme). The Intersindical union has positively assessed the announcement, highlighting that it brings "certainty" to the workforce, but has stressed the need to know the production volume and the number of jobs to be maintained to ensure the workload.
Ford's new European strategy, named Ready-Set-Ford, focuses on its strengths in competition and 'off-road' vehicles, adapting them to European demands. The company reaffirms its commitment to the transition towards zero-emission vehicles, although it warns that emission targets disconnected from actual consumer demand can be counterproductive.
