Following months of collaboration between Fundación Conexus, CEV Alicante, Ineca, and Aefa, the Provincial Commission of Alicante has been created. This new body intends to place the province's needs on the national economic agenda, focusing on infrastructure, investment, connectivity, water, and resources.
The commission's formation, which took place in Madrid, signifies a further step in the relationship between these organizations and Fundación Conexus. Ineca and Aefa had joined the foundation earlier in the year, initiating a strategic effort centered on the province.
The president of CEV Alicante, César Quintanilla, highlighted that the commission should serve to prioritize demands and garner support, aiming for these requests to materialize into concrete commitments. The goal is for the province's needs to translate into investments and tangible projects, moving beyond mere diagnosis.
Meanwhile, the president of Ineca, Alfredo Millá, emphasizes the importance of speaking " with a single voice" to enhance Alicante's national profile. The commission seeks to gain visibility in investment decision-making circles and ensure the province can compete on equal terms.
The commission commences with a defined work calendar for the upcoming year, established during its inaugural meeting. Attendees at the formation included Manuel Broseta, president of Fundación Conexus, and other representatives from entities such as Aefa, CEV Alicante, Ineca, Garrigues, TM Grupo Inmobiliario, and EY.
The event concluded with a business lunch where former minister José Manuel García-Margallo reflected on the role of regions and civil society in driving projects.
