The government team of Alicante City Council has given the green light to a new modification of the tax ordinance that will reduce the IBI tax rate for the 2027 financial year.

The decision, adopted at the weekly meeting of the Local Board, sets the rate for urban properties at 0.61291% and at 0.71401% for properties with special characteristics. This action represents the second consecutive reduction applied to this municipal tax, with the aim of fulfilling the budgetary agreements established with the Vox municipal group.
According to the data provided, the measure will mean a 1.20% reduction in receipts compared to the previous rate. The proposal must now be submitted to the plenary session for initial approval, where it is expected to receive the necessary support for final validation. The estimated economic impact on municipal coffers will be 1,100,324.86 euros less in revenue in 2027.
The modification will benefit more than 336,000 homes and premises in the city. In addition, the council maintains the current bonuses for social housing, large families, and properties that have installed solar energy systems, as well as for economic activities declared to be of special interest.
