The Alcoy Chamber of Commerce has expressed optimism regarding the development of the Alcoi Sud Business Park (PEAS), as the technical reports received do not oppose it but rather set conditions for the final design.

The Vice President of the Chamber, Natxo Gómez, clarified that "none of the reports are negative" and that they only establish "conditions to be taken into account in the final project" that will emerge from the Special Plan for this new industrial land, considered necessary for the city's industrial sustainability. He emphasized that no report indicates that the PEAS cannot be built, but rather that they comment on the initial document.
Other reports related to the Initial Strategic Declaration (DIE) and the development of the Special Plan established by the Generalitat Valenciana are still pending. In recent weeks, reports have been received from various administrations, including the Directorate General of Urban Planning, Landscape, and Environmental Assessment, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Climate Change Adaptation Service, the Ministry of Transport's Demarcation of Roads, the Directorate General of Land Transport Infrastructure of the Generalitat, the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response, EPSAR, and the Territorial Service of Urban Planning and Industry, Mines, and Energy of Alicante. All of them "add possible measures or studies necessary for the correct definition of the final project", according to the Chamber.
The President of the Chamber of Commerce, Lucía Pascual, pointed out that the administrative process "is within its expected course" and that the initial reports "mark the way forward, without any of them being a barrier to continue". This generates conviction in both the Generalitat Valenciana and the business fabric of Alcoy about the necessity and viability of the project.
Pascual considers "reasonable" some of the reports' considerations, defending the intention to do the project "well", not "at all costs", but "with measure, great care in all elements that make it environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable". She highlighted "the sincere commitment that the current Consell is making to our city, our productive fabric, and our employment", calling the project strategic for the province, the region, and the Valencian Community.
The Chamber recommends "avoiding alarmist, self-interested, and highly politicized messages", arguing that if Alcoy remains "in the current limbo", it will have a problem. It is emphasized that the project must have "all guarantees", and the reports, including the one from the Ministry of Transport, are heading in the right direction.
It is recalled that the environmental group La Carrasca-Ecologistes en Acció disseminated a report from the Directorate General of Roads that "prohibits the link from the highway", adding to negative reports from other town councils and the Directorate General of Urban Planning. Meanwhile, the Business Union of the Province of Alicante (Uepal) has expressed its support for the project.
Pascual also advocated for territorial collaboration, proposing an "axis from Villena to Ontinyent via Ibi and Alcoy" as positive for the interior area of the province, generating synergies. She stated the Chamber's support for the creation of industrial land in Ibi and other municipalities, emphasizing the area's industrial DNA.
Finally, she compared this initiative to industrial corridors in other territories such as Madrid or Barcelona, highlighting that these ecosystems collaborate and cooperate, acting as a lever for economic development, improving productivity, and promoting quality employment.
